Happy Anniversary, George

Twenty-five years ago today, George and I were married at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Twenty-five years.

Wow.

George had hair. I weighed 109 pounds. He was 21, and I was 19. I felt nervous and happy and all warm and fuzzy inside.

Neither of us can remember much about the wedding. When we watch the video, it's like we're watching actors in a movie. Who are those people?

We had no idea what we were doing.

We still have no idea what we are doing.

But we're doing it together.

Which still makes me feel nervous and happy and all warm and fuzzy inside.

  3. "We had no idea what we were doing. We still have no idea what we're doing. But we're doing it together." That is the perfect summary of my marriage as well, and I was married just weeks after my 20th birthday and thought I had everything figured out. Ha ha ha. We're working on year thirty. Happy Anniversary to our fellow intrepid travelers on the early marriage trail.

  21. Congratulations on your 25th anniversary! We are celebrating our 40th in September. Isn't it wonderful to share those years (for better, for worse!) with someone you love who is also your best friend, on whom you can always depend? Best wishes for at least 25 more!
