Twenty-five years ago today, George and I were married at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Twenty-five years.
Wow.
George had hair. I weighed 109 pounds. He was 21, and I was 19. I felt nervous and happy and all warm and fuzzy inside.
Neither of us can remember much about the wedding. When we watch the video, it's like we're watching actors in a movie. Who are those people?
We had no idea what we were doing.
We still have no idea what we are doing.
But we're doing it together.
Which still makes me feel nervous and happy and all warm and fuzzy inside.
Congratulations Susan and George! lol...hair is overrated, and you still weigh 109 lbs., right? Great post today - hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to both of you! And yet again, we see an example of how you and I are living parallel lives. Our 25th is coming up in August!
ReplyDelete"We had no idea what we were doing. We still have no idea what we're doing. But we're doing it together." That is the perfect summary of my marriage as well, and I was married just weeks after my 20th birthday and thought I had everything figured out. Ha ha ha. We're working on year thirty. Happy Anniversary to our fellow intrepid travelers on the early marriage trail.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Jiminy, you were both *babies*!! But, looking at the picture, deliriously happy babies. That is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! So glad to hear that you still have that warm and fuzzy feeling after all this time.
