Words, Words, Words from Goethe

"We must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

What are you doing to change, renew, rejuvenate yourself? For me, right now, it has to be the Stephen Ministry and also my creative pursuits. Please share your anti-hardening strategy.

  1. Lovely quote Susan, it is so true that we need to take time for renewing. I've been doing a lot of gardening, including the planting out of the vegetable patch. This means I am out with the birds a lot and I am really trying to take the time to appreciate their songs in particular, at the moment.

  2. I don't have a strategy, I wish I did. But I've gone out a handful of times now with my oldest son to sell popcorn for the Cub Scouts. It drains me, I hate asking complete strangers for favors (in this case, money for a tasty but overpriced product). But occasionally we meet some really terrific people, who make me thankful for their kindness and individuality.

I just noticed the comment above mine, from Mim. I *love* the idea of really listening to the birdsong. Right now I am only hearing an insistent crow, but I still think Mim has the right idea.
