Words, Words, Words from Jane E. Brody

"Turn your midlife crisis to your own advantage by making it a time for renewal of your body and mind, rather than stand by helplessly and watch them decline." Jane E. Brody

What an apt sentiment for this time in my life...or for pretty much any time in anyone's life. Where are you now in your life's journey and what are you doing to make it a time of renewal and strengthening, rather than helplessness?

  2. Where am I in my journey? Well, I have a big birthday this year - 40. While I never thought it would be something that would bother me in the least, I at how it is impacting me and am a tad surprised by the impact. I am a pragmatic, logical. I am not worried about the few grays hairs I have or the laugh lines I am getting. Instead, I am thinking that 1/2 of my life is over and that I have so much still I want to do and see. Your words are inspiration. It is a time to reflect and renew and celebrate what I have done, who I am and where I am going! Life balance. Simplify. Enjoy. Words to live by.

  3. I'm at 50 . . . and it definitely means maintenance, maintenance, maintenance! I have just returned from a weekend retreat - spiritual refreshment and renewal. Did me a world of good - how faithful and full of grace, love and patience is our God.
Trying to work on the body as it's pretty much in for regular repairs due to wear and tear (and wild living?!) Looking at my diet - finding I'm gluten and dairy intolerant. Wanting to exercise more but have tendonitis in both hips at the moment due to bad car seat and having to drive 3-4 hours a day.
But we are moving in the right direction! One step at a time. Thanks for the reminder that we are responsible for our life choices.
