Gratitude Journal #158

Today, I am grateful for rainbows...full arches of color over a cloudy backdrop in violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. A rainbow arching over autumnal trees...amazing.

Today, I am grateful for people who can share their sorrows. Thoreau said that most men lead lives of quiet desperation. That's a choice. When people can share their sorrow, when there is someone there to listen, sorrows lessen.

Today, I am grateful for mammograms. I'm having mine today. Have you scheduled yours as needed?

Today, I am grateful for rest.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Today I am grateful for a very nice weekend with my hubby that included a wonderful, rejuvenating nap on Saturday. There's nothing like a nap on a gray, rainy afternoon.

I am ever so grateful for crossing five different things off my to do list over the weekend.

I am grateful this week for getting my laptop back from the Geek Squad and it not costing me a penny. I am also ever so grateful that it broke down before it's one year warranty was up.

Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious week! (I watched cupcake wars last night while crafting; they were making cupcakes for the Mary Poppins cast.)

  2. We had a delayed Thanksgiving celebration yesterday (soccer tournament and out of town family on the actual one) and I am thankful for the wonderful day we had together - love my family :)

    Thankful for another clear mammogram.

Thankful for the joy and entertainment our cat brings :) We finally got rain and watching the dilemma on his face as he was deciding whether it was worth going out and getting wet was quite the sight. After a few failed attempts, he chose to go out.

Don't know if you are aware of Ann Voskamp's blog or not. It's called A Holy Experience and she is the author of One Thousand Gifts. She provides a monthly sheet with a category a day in which you have to list three things you are thankful for. By the end of the year you have your 1000 gifts :) Has been a pure joy to do :) Her writing is amazing and deeply moving and thought provoking.

  3. I'm grateful for my GYN nurse practitioner. She's so easy to talk to and informative...and funny. I'm grateful for supportive extended family. We can go months without seeing each other, but when we do we pick up right where we left off. I love them so much.
And I'm grateful for much needed rain!

  4. VERY thankful for a normal mammogram, 11 years in a row. VERY thankful my sister is doing so well one week after breast cancer surgery. (Early detection was definitely the key in her case.) VERY thankful I have people who listen when I need to share my sorrow. VERY thankful for your prayers, Susan.

  5. So many things to be grateful for.
My friends who are just here for me, to talk me down from the edge of craziness, sharing a meal together,to listen and encourage.
For Annie, my fur baby who everyday shows me I'm not alone and happiness is a simple as finding a little joy in everything.
My good health and to be able to make my body do what I want it to.
And for this blog - which I read to lift my spirits and help me focus on the positive things in life.
