Weekly Giggle #15

George was teaching Jack to ride his bike, and suddenly Jack put his feet down and stopped. George asked what the problem was.

Jack: There's a bee up there.

George: Just ride past him really fast. He'll never even know you're there.

Jack: You have GOT to be KIDDING me.

You can't get anything past my son, especially where bees are concerned. And yes, he rode his bike without training wheels. We're so proud!

  1. oh wow!!
that look of determination and pride on his face is priceless.
that picture needs a scrapbook page.

susan, i am still struggling with my boys' photos and non.scrapbooks.....since they are grown up and everything!!
do you make pages for each fella? or a family album and figure they can worry about who keeps what later? i start to work on an album for each fella. then i like this pix so much i want a copy for me. and then there are pix of both boys, so i need another one to make 2 pages. and then maybe i want one for myself. then i quit, and fret about it some more. i feel like that marooned sailor in the a.a.milne poem who had so much to do, he couldn't decide where to start, so he just sat in the sun.
sorry. rambling here. if you have some extra time and or any extra thoughts.

    thanks much!

  2. Marty,

I could write a book about the indecisions of scrapbooking. First of all, give up the idea that you need to scrap ALL the photos. If I were you, I would make an album for each fella but really focus what sort of pages you make. Say, a 2-page spread for every year they lived with you. Write a specific memory or general thoughts on each page inspired by the photos to make it more personal, and address the journaling specifically to the recipient. Or organize the scrapbook thematically rather than chronologically: hobbies and interests, school, friends, girlfriends, family gatherings, etc. Then show how each topic changed as they grew.

Once you've done those albums, then go through and scrap for yourself with the left-over photos...as many or as few as you want. Then, when you're gone, they can fight over them, LOL!

Order the book Big Picture Scrapbooking by Stacy Julian. It freed me from the anxiety of scrapbooking. Stacy has a very workable system and a wonderful positive attitude.

    Hope this helps!
