Gratitude Journal #120

Today, I am grateful for my Stephen Ministry friends and my former next-door-neighbor who gave us house-warming gifts. No one in the new neighborhood has stopped by to welcome us, although everyone seems quick to return waves in passing. I assume it's the cold weather and long drive-way, but perhaps it's the orange stucco.

Today, I am grateful for paint, which will take care of the orange stucco in the next few days.

Today, I am grateful for hospice and for all those who comfort the grieving. George's extended family in Colorado lost 38-year-old Patrick Haikal to cancer this weekend.

Today, I am grateful for windows and doors.

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Today I am grateful for morning break so I can read your blog and a few others.

Today I am grateful for a nice hot bowl of oatmeal with some cinnamon applesauce. It's freezing in here this morning.

Today I am grateful for time to make cards yesterday. I had so much fun. I can't wait to take some pictures of them.

Today I am grateful for smart people who will share their expertise. (Including you!) I have someone designing a blog for me at a fair price. I hope to start publishing the beginning of February.

  2. You made me LOL re: the orange stucco. Poor orange....such an unloved colour ;)

Today I'm grateful for being able to teach the grade 5/6 Sunday School class and for the awesome lesson of Ahab and Elijah.

I'm also grateful that our Bible Study was able to prep, serve and clean up at the community dinner another church puts on for about 175 needy people.

I'm also thankful for God's protection as nobody was hurt in the accident we were in as we were literally turning left into our driveway after serving at the dinner. An impatient driver decided to pass us on the left and thankfully only clipped us on the front left quarter panel and ripped the front bumper a third of the way off. Funny how those "things" happen when you are out serving God.

Thankful to be called a child of the King and for the God's faithfulness :)

  3. Somebody just moved into the cool-looking ranch kitty-corner from us, and I have not made the first overture toward welcoming them. Eeek! But I'll definitely wave if I see them outside.

Ugh, I am a bad neighbor.

  4. If it makes you feel any better about the neighbors, I'll tell you that in the seven (7) years that we've lived in our house, the neighbors across the street have never once acknowleged us. I stopped waiving to them about three years ago. I hope yours come around soon.

Today I am grateful for having known Lillian Wilton, who yesterday became an angel at the age of 92. She was a dedicated, loving servant of God, and will be truly missed.

  6. I am grateful for the friend who stayed with me for the weekend while visiting out here on the west coast.

I am grateful for the knowledge that making time to sit and talk and drink tea for hours on end is more important than getting housework and laundry and grocery shopping done.
