Gratitude Journal #35

Today, I am grateful for

*my family's health

*George's orange-ginger chicken

*the peace of yesterday's church service

*this coat, given to me by my sister, because its spring color lifts my mood on these gray winter days

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Susan, that coat is so cute on you...I'm currently wearing a black duvet thing, but since the weather shows no sign of warming up, I'm stuck with it :o(

  2. What a lovely style! Can't tell the color. Is the coat lavender or blue?

I was thinking of sending George a little jump-start note because it's been so long since he posted a recipe. I get SUCH a kick out of his cooking because he is a play-it-by-ear cook like my mother was a play-it-by-ear pianist. Being a follow-the-recipe-to-the-letter person, I envy those who can "wing it" and still please the audience.

  5. I'm grateful for the time yesterday to finish two identical memory books about my mother, one for me and one for my sister. A quote I used may be appropriate for George.

"A cookbook must have recipes, but it shouldn't be a blueprint. It should be more inspirational; it should be a guide." Thomas Jefferson

  6. Kay, what a wonderful quotation!

Bahb, I've asked him when he's going to post again...the Orange Chicken needs to be shared with the world. He says "eventually." Sigh. He's a bad blogger! I told him you asked, though, so maybe he'll get on it.

  7. I'm grateful for indoor plumbing. Ever been to a place without? Makes you appreciate flushing toilet, hot showers and washing machines. :)

  8. That is a glorious coat. Just the perfect thing to remind you that inder the blanket of snow, those spring bulbs are stored full of energy and ready to burst forth!
