Being an Adult Is Stupid

Okay, I know, I know. I am usually Pollyanna positive (or at least not negative), but today, I have PMS and all bets are off.

Yesterday, I put together my brand new shiny vacuum cleaner and gave it a trial run. Wow. That thing sucks like nobody's business. I found myself smiling as the canister filled with the dust and dog fur from one small room. Suck it, Hoover!

And that's when it occurred to me that being an adult is stupid.

When have you had this thought? Aw, come on. You know you've had it. Something stupid made you happy and you realized this is what being an adult is all about. Please do share because I'm feeling very hormonal and just knowing I'm not alone would be helpful.

Thank you.

  1. I just typed up a big thing which then disappeared into thin air. GRUMBLE.

The highlight of my day yesterday was going to bed when it was audibly raining, and remembering to turn on the dishwasher right before bed so I could hear its swooshing sounds. Being happy to go to bed = grownup.

  2. I bought a weed-whacker yesterday and did a little happy dance.

  3. I feel so much relief when I actually know if laundry is done or not...where the boys' socks are, and if they have shirts and shorts that match. Today is marginal in that dept because there are clothes in THREE bedrooms. Ugh. No, you are not alone.

  4. Organizing 22 years of attic stuff into piles for donating to church rummage sale, pitching or keeping...made me feel so accomplished!

  6. Honestly, we bought a Dyson several years ago (clearance + coupon = total win) and I *still* get giddy when the canister is full of dog/cat hair! I get you, sistah!
