Today, I am grateful for the golden glow of Christmas trees...
and for ornaments...both vintage and new...
and angels that speak to George's Scandinavian heritage...
and my southern heritage...
living in harmony on one tree. Peace on earth, goodwill to all.
Of course, the Scandinavians and Southern States have never exactly been at odds, so peace between them isn't a stretch. But you know what I mean.
Today, I am grateful for snow days. (If I say this aloud often enough, I might start believing it.)
Today, I am grateful for this:
Maybe I'm the last person in America to get a smart phone, but I doubt it. The sales person at Best Buy didn't even blink when I confessed I've never even sent a text message. I also know that I never would have paid the $500 price tag for this phone, but since it was free with a reasonably priced data plan, well, what the heck. And it's red. And it slides open to reveal a keyboard. Oh how I love the keyboard. It's so...familiar, comforting, old-fashioned, small, cute.
Snow days are perfect days for learning new technology. See, I knew I'd find an upside to snow days.
What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for early Christmas presents...I got the exact same phone! :) Except mine is black. Took me 3 days just to get all my contacts into it (and I don't have that many) Definitely a learning curve to this one, but so many useful features. The other day I needed new wiper blades for my car, but couldn't find any sales guy to help me, so I googled my car on my phone and found the dimensions I needed! Brilliant! I am hooked. Plus, it takes a decent picture with zoom and flash. Will make good use of this feature over the holidays. Got my Blackberrry Messenger and email set up, sending instant messages is a snap. Working on Google Reader. So far I haven't actually "called" anyone...It does that too, doesn't it? :)
ReplyDeletei'm am also (not that) grateful for snow days, but tv is better on school days, so i am for sure grateful for PBS
ReplyDeleteI don't have a smartphone, but I do have a cell with a qwerty keyboard that slides out, and I love it. I also love saying qwerty out loud.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that thinks George's Scandinavian angel is remarkably busty? Please tell me I'm not the only one. Maybe I'm just jealous.
I only recently got a smart phone. My old dependable one (which only made phone calls!!) died very suddenly so we bit the bullet and went down the Apple path. Still don't know what it can do, only made phone calls so far.
ReplyDeleteLove your decorations and the tree looks beautiful.
I think I am the only person in the UK without a smartphone. I would love but my DH has only just worked out how to make calls on the present one and we've had it for about 3 years :) He hasn't yet worked out how to send text messages unless you count the blank ones he has sent by mistake by hitting send instead of reply! Am very envious :)
