Gratitude Journal #45
Today, I am grateful for the man who helped me make this family. Twenty-four years ago today, we were married. Wow. It seems like forever ago and also the blink of an eye. There's something to be said for being stubborn and in love.
Today, I am grateful for the Bang-Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill. If you've never had them, I highly recommend you run right out and get some. Your life will be better for it.
Today, I am grateful for Hoover, whose limp is more pronounced but who is still begging for food with unparalleled enthusiasm.
What are you grateful for today?

What a beautiful family you have Susan! Thanks for sharing. I am grateful for pretty much the same thing as you today! Tomorrow we will have been married 39 years! And boy it goes by in a flash. We have a 13 year old yellow lab named Taffy...and every day we have with her is a gift. Taffy and Molly say woof-woof to Hoover. I was going to ask them what they said but decided it was between them. Smiles and have a fabulous day. And Happy Anniversary!!

Judi,
ReplyDeleteHoover says woof, woof to Molly and Taffy.
Thanks so much, and Happy Anniversary to you, too!
Hugs,
Susan

ReplyDeleteThe gratitude is all mine, sweetie. If any one is wondering, this what my long suffering wife has had to put up with over 24 years: Getting hit on in the Mather AFB Officers Club by drunk navigator school students; hanging out with drunken USAF aviators quoting Monty Python until all hours of the night; waiting until 0200 in the morning for me to come home when I said I'd be home for dinner (another drunk aviator thing); hearing that a couple of people had died during a training exercise I was on (and no other info) when I was an ALO; thinking I was dead after a night training jump during the ALO gig with the 3rd Ranger Battalion; hanging with me through 15 hour days, 7 days a week for 6 months during USAF Weapons School; watching the munchkins and the news for 93 days while I flew combat missions over Iraq; watching munchkins solo again while I was gone for 5 months to Tyndall AFB; and listening to me gripe about my post-retirement job; all while making a lovely home for me and our boys. THANK YOU Honey-Bunny!!!! Love ya babe! George
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Susan and George .. cheers to many, many more! So glad I have found your site, as it has given my hubby and I many more topics to think and talk about. So today, I am grateful for you Susan, and your writing.
ReplyDeleteCheers.

Lovely family image! Congrats on the milestone of 24 - isn't every year a milestone?! This year we are at 16 years, can appreciate your comment about passing quickly but also forever ago.
ReplyDeleteToday I am grateful for the place I am in life - for the experiences that I have had that have led me here. Some good, some not so good.. but that's life, eh.
Bang-bang shrimp sounds interesting - can't say I have ever tried them!
Oh my gosh! I LOVEEEE Bang Bang shrimp!!! LoL... my girlfriends and I go to Bonefish at least once a month, just to get drinks and we share a bunch of appetizers. Bang Bang Shrimp is ALWAYS on the top of our list! :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way.... that is an adorable picture! You have some really cute boys in your life! :)
Congratulations. The love shines on your faces in your picture. You know where your treasure lies.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, Susan! I continue to be amazed by how many things we have in common! My husband and I will be married 24 years on Aug 2--and I totally share your feeling that it is both a long time and a short time. You so frequently articulate something I think too. Your family picture makes me so happy! And Hoover wiggling on the grass and begging for food makes me happy too!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for internet friends, for my husband, and for air-conditioning in Florida.
Happy Anniversary (late now, I know)!! That is a wonderful picture of your family.
ReplyDeleteAm so glad Hoover is still hanging in there!
