Words, Words, Words for My Birthday

Birthdays are complicated things. Both of these apply. Equally.

1. "No wise man ever wished to be younger." Jonathan Swift [Nor wise woman either.]

2. "Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened." Cora Harvey Armstrong [You said it, Cora.]

  1. Happy Birthday, Susan,
I hope you are having a great birthday with your dear boys(big and little)

I can see the wisdom in both the quotes you chose but I relate to the second the closest!

    Where did the time go?

  4. Belated Happy Birthday, Susan.

I have a rubber stamp that asks, "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?" It's interesting to ponder how you would answer that.

My mother-in-law told me, when she was 78, "I've always been about 16, in my head." So her mirror was always a shock. As is mine. I'm 74 and startled when I pass a mirror. I usually chuckle and say, "Grandma, is that you?" because I look exactly like she looked at the same age.

Can you think of any age you would prefer to be now?

  5. Bahb,

I've thought a lot about your question and think that I feel my age is exactly right: not too old, not too young.

Seems like a pretty good age to be!

    Susan
